FAQ - Solving Field Challenges

Here is the most frequent feedback from our users:

Will the hook and loop closure actually hold up to the heat? It’s a valid concern. The hook and loop tape used is specifically treated for industrial use. The overlapping design also plays a key role: the thick silicone protects the closure area from direct exposure. Within its continuous temperature range (+260°C / 500°F), the closure remains perfectly operational.

How do I stop the fiberglass from fraying when I cut it? Any braid can release a few fibers when cut. For a clean finish, use sharp scissors. A field tip is to apply a small piece of high-temperature tape to the ends if you expect frequent handling of the sleeve.

Is it suitable for high-vibration environments? This is exactly where it excels. Unlike rigid cable ties that eventually cut into hoses, the hook and loop distributes pressure along the entire length. The silicone thickness acts as a natural vibration dampener.

What about oil or fuel splashes? The silicone in FireFlex® Wrap is inert to hydrocarbons. Oil rolls off the surface without soaking into the fiberglass. This eliminates the "wicking" effect that could make a standard thermal wrap flammable in the event of a leak.
