Your Questions on Using Flexo PET
What is the secret to a clean cut without fraying? To ensure the integrity of the braid, avoid standard scissors. The use of a hot knife is essential: the heat will cauterize the tips of the monofilaments during the cut, instantly welding the end for a flawless and durable finish.
Is it at risk of becoming brittle under sun exposure? Not at all. The PET we use incorporates stabilizers that protect it against photochemical degradation. Whether on a roof or in an exposed engine compartment, the sleeve maintains its flexibility and mechanical strength without becoming brittle.
Can it be installed on a cable where the connector is already soldered? Yes, that's the whole point of its large expansion capacity. However, if the connector is truly disproportionate to the cable, insertion can be difficult. In this specific case, or for retrofitting without disassembly, we would direct you toward our Flexo F6 solution, which wraps directly around the cable.
What is its actual resistance to pests? PET is an effective barrier against common abrasion, but it is not a chemical repellent for rodents. If your installation is located in a high-infestation area (agricultural settings, buried technical conduits), we can offer specific reinforced or metal variants.
